Passport Applications
AS OF 3-18-2020 THE COURTHOUSE IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC IN ORDER TO TRY TO SLOW THE SPREAD OF COVID-19. THEREFORE, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCEPT PASSPORT APPLICATIONS AT THIS TIME. THE CLOSURE WILL BE REASSESSED ON APRIL 7, 2020 AND MAY CONTINUE.

Passport applications are available from the Recorder's Department as are Passport Photo services. The cost for Passport Photos is $12.00 per person for a set of two photos.

**PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS FOR AIR TRAVEL**
ALL PERSONS traveling by air outside of the United States are required to present a passport book or other valid travel documents to enter or re-enter the United States.
**PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS FOR LAND AND SEA TRAVEL**
ALL PERSONS traveling by land and sea outside of the United States are required to present a passport book/card, or other valid travel documents to enter or re-enter the United States.
In summary, effective June 1, 2009, all U.S. citizens are now required to present a passport book, passport card, or Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) - compliant document when entering the United States.
Note: There are many rules when traveling with an INFANT OR CHILDREN. Please check the websites for the US Department of State and the US Customs & Border Protection for current regulations and recommendations. It is also advisable that you contact the US Embassy in the country you are going to visit to see if they also have unique requirements when traveling with a child or children.
Passport Services is currently processing routine applications in up to 8 weeks from the time of application and expedited service in up to 3 weeks, door-to-door.
If you are traveling in LESS than 3 weeks and need a passport, you must make an appointment to go to the Minneapolis Passport Agency, 212 3rd Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55401. To schedule an appointment please call 1-877-487-2778.
